8. Managing Your Asset Limit

Your RAMP software license has a limit to the number of assets you can actively monitor. If you are approaching your asset limit, a warning banner is displayed at the bottom of your browser and you can continue to use RAMP.

When the number of assets reaches 95% of the licensed asset limit, a warning message will appear at the bottom of the GUI. When the number of assets exceeds the current licensed asset limit by 20% or more, RAMP will automatically lock the GUI and prevent users from logging into the interface. To unlock the software, please contact Hyperview support immediately at support@hyperviewhq.com to upgrade your plan.

8.1. What is an asset?

An asset is any physical device, virtual machine (VM) or cloud instance that is being tracked within the platform. Physical devices include UPS, CRAC units, servers, storage units, and network devices.

8.2. Are reserved assets, patch panels or switch ports considered assets?

No. Reserved assets, patch panels, switch ports, racks and ‘unrecognized’ data center components are not considered assets–therefore, they do not count towards your asset limit.

8.3. What should I do if I am approaching my asset limit?
