RAMP Version 3.4¶
This includes release notes from V3.3 hot fix.
New Features¶
Support for Cisco UCS Manager
Added the ability to separate panel boards from the PDU/RPP
Added new service to allow RAMP DCIM to act as a Modbus TCP manager. This allows other management systems to pull cabinet level power and environmental data from RAMP DCIM using Modbus TCP.
Enhanced change log support for VMware virtual disk drive and memory changes
Enhanced unmetered rack PDU/RPP power monitoring by using power values from metered breakers
Enhanced the RAMP DCIM license functionality to provide the ability to turn on and off features in RAMP DCIM. This allows customers to simplify the user interface to remove functionality they are not using. It also allows them to turn off features they do not want, such as outlet level control.
Added ability to search for memory, hard drives, and processors
Added roll-up values for total memory, total disk space, total processors, and total cores
Enhanced notification view to be able to see the recipients of a notification and to display the notification method (email, command, etc.)
Add the ability to connect a device to multiple power meters to support equipment with multiple power sources
Discovery enhancements
All administrators to disable global credentials at the discovery level
Provide the ability to set different timeout values for all communication protocols to increase discovery speed
Enhancements to all communication protocols to reduce the discovery time
Randomized the order of the credentials to handles cases where a failed credential may cause a timeout
Added a database setting to allow control of the frequency of VMware polling
Enhanced the End of Life report to include more information about devices nearing their end of life
Add support for RAMP DCIM to send SNMP traps to a designated network management system (or systems)
User Interface Enhancements¶
Logical groups are now displayed on the asset main dashboard
Server roll-up page now displays name, location, maximum CPU, average CPU, and power
Added protocol descriptions on the discovery settings to make it more clear how the protocols are used
Enhanced the virtual machines view on a server to display the cores, processors, disk space, and memory resources being used by the virtual machine
Added the ability to “Add & Continue” to allow users to more quickly add locations and assets
Added ability to view power path either vertically or horizontally
Added a column for “Acknowledged By” on the asset alarm page to show who acknowledge the alarm
